I am a graphic designer from Louisville, Kentucky. I graduated from the University of Louisville in 2016 with a BFA in Communication Art and Design and in 2011 with a BA in Marketing and minor in Entrepreneurship. While I enjoyed all things marketing, I knew I wanted to work in a design position. Originally I was interested in design because I grew up an avid scrapbooker who loved page layouts and paper goods. After taking my first design classes in high school, I was really hooked.
While working on my BFA in graphic design, I have had a wide variety of creative experiences. I have apprenticed at a letterpress studio, interned at a design firm with clients in Silicon Valley, and worked at a boutique photography studio. I have learned that no matter what the project is, the goal is to solve the design problem. I like to begin every project by putting pen to paper and sketching out my ideas. It is in the process where the magic happens.
While I do not scrapbook as much as I used to, I still have that passion for good design, especially things created by hand. I am constantly inspired by good and creative work. I love graphic design because it has the power to make people’s lives better all while looking great at the same time. Besides design, I am passionate about trying new local businesses and restaurants, practicing yoga, and traveling as much as I can.
